Dessert is as Easy as 1,2,3

Are your little chefs eager to help in the kitchen but you are afraid that they will mess it up in more ways than one? This simple recipe is sure to put a smile on everyone's face from beginning to end. It involves a minimum of three ingredients, little prep and practically no clean up. Bake it up and watch it disappear.

I rediscovered dump cakes this summer when Chad and I found a can of blueberry pie filling on sale at Ralphs. I checked my cupboard and found a cake mix, can of crushed pineapple and butter and so it all began.

The blueberry pineapple dump cake was quite a hit with our Improv friends and made me look like a real baker. For those who know me well, this is not a title that best describes me.

Click on this image to find 51 easy ways to create your own dump cake. Remember you can top it off with your own homemade ice cream. (See previous blog.)

Most of the dump cake recipes use 3 basic ingredients:

  1. Pie Filling

  2. Cake Mix

  3. Butter
